Wrong Pump for Stock LS Bottom End
Originally purchased this pump as part of my Head and Cam up-grade on my otherwise stock 98 C5 – 5.7 LS1 w/58,000 miles. This is a nice pump; but it was way to much for the stock bottom end. Oil pressure at hot idle was 60psi and would peg my oil pressure gauge at better than 110 psi when shifting a 6K. Blew out my oil pressure sensor with fewer then 70 miles after being put back together. Had to RnR this pump with Mellings M295 stock replacement pump which I’d ported and running with the Blue 60 lb. spring installed.
